Who is eligible for assistance?

Do you have income requirements?

No. We do not determine eligibility based solely on income.

We understand that every family's financial situation is different. A family may be able to cover certain expenses while still facing significant barriers to accessing vision care. Because of this, we evaluate each application individually and consider a family's current circumstances, available resources, and ability to afford the vision-related care their child needs.

Our goal is simple: to help children access vision care that might otherwise be out of reach.

What types of expenses can be covered?

3.

We may provide assistance for a wide range of vision-related needs, including:

  • Eye examinations

  • Prescription glasses

  • Eye patches

  • Prescription eye drops

  • Vision therapy

  • Corrective lenses

  • Medical appointments related to eye care

  • Eye surgeries and procedures

  • Transportation costs associated with receiving vision care

If a requested expense is directly related to helping a child access vision care, we encourage families to apply.

How are funds distributed?

4.

In most cases, See The World Foundation pays providers directly whenever possible. This helps ensure funds are used for their intended purpose and allows us to maximize our impact.

Examples of providers may include:

  • Eye care clinics

  • Hospitals

  • Ophthalmologists

  • Optometrists

  • Vision therapy providers

  • Medical suppliers

5.

Will I receive a check directly?

Generally, assistance payments are made directly to the provider.

The primary exception is transportation assistance. In these cases, families may be asked to provide documentation or an estimate of anticipated travel costs. Transportation assistance may be provided directly to the family when appropriate and after verification.

While we understand that medical needs can create financial strain, we are only able to fund expenses directly related to accessing vision care.

Examples of expenses we generally cannot cover include:

  • Lost wages from missed work

  • Rent or mortgage payments

  • Utility bills

  • General household expenses

  • Non-medical travel unrelated to vision care

  • Expenses not connected to a child's eye or vision treatment

What expenses are not eligible?

7.

Does receiving assistance guarantee future funding?

No. Each application is reviewed individually, and funding is subject to available resources and the details of the request.

What information will I need to apply?

8.

Families may be asked to provide supporting documentation such as:

  • Treatment estimates

  • Invoices or bills

  • Appointment information

  • Prescriptions

  • Provider contact information

  • Transportation estimates (if applicable)
